A grenade is the trademark weapon of Two and he may be the only one in the village with access to them. Two uses the grenade psychologically to produce fear.

The significance of a grenade may be in its symbolism: It is the weapon most closely resembling a Lucidia pill. Two is known to place pills in the mouth of his wife, possibly Lucidia pills, and Two is shown placing a grenade in Six's mouth in a dream/hallucination/flashback sequence Six has when tied to a pole in the desert.

An alternate explanation may be it is the weapon most closely resembling the white spheres, however they may also be linked to the pill symbol.
