[edit] Numbers
[edit] Known Facts
The caption of the Bus photo was labeled "Two's perspective" and the Mountainside photo was labeled "93's Perspective." It's unknown if Two and 93 are camera angles, buildings, people, or something else.[edit] Speculation
[Speculation] The simplest explanation is most often the correct one; the term "perspective" seems most appropriately applied to a camera, since in this case we are talking about photographs. One would expect a person's "perspective" to be observations communicated verbally, as in written form like an article. However, if a person is regularly stationed at a location, then it reasonable to call the view from that station a person's "perspective."
[Speculation] If Two is a person, she or he may have something to do with running The Village. If the number is indicative of rank, then being called Two might indicate he’s not really in charge of The Village. Might Two be someone who is just like any of the other villagers? Two may also be a code name or pseudonym, to keep the details of The Village secret from outsiders and/or to keep the real name of Two from being known to insiders.
[Analysis] Is it significant that "Two" is spelled out and "93" is not? One would assume that any formal numbering system would be consistent; might this difference mean that Two and 93 are each a different kind of thing?
It is possible that the fact that "Two" is spelled out and "93" (and "27" and "512", for that matter) is written numerically is nothing more significant than a grammatical choice. In formal writing, it is usually observed that quantifiers of less than 10 (or by some standards, 100) are spelled out, while it is permissible to use numerals to designate higher values.
[edit] Arrivals
[edit] Known Facts
The caption of the Bus photo reads "Scan of The Village: New Arrivals..."[edit] Speculation
[Speculation] The exact nature of this image is unclear at this point. Are we merely seeing a busload of tourists arriving at an exclusive resort? Fantasy Island actually comes to mind. However, the formality of "New Arrivals" seems to suggest some significance to this event. New military recruits? New employees? New patients at a treatment center?
